Less admin.
More patient care.

Practor is practice management software for private practices of every specialty in South Africa: the diary, patient records, invoices and claims in one place, free for the whole team and paid per use.

Running your practice on Practor is free

There are no plans, no trial and no seat charge. You only pay for what you use.

Practice management software in South Africa typically runs R500 to R3,000 a month per practitioner, with claim switching billed on top.

What you pay for

Per approved claim
R4.50 You're only charged when the medical insurance approves the claim.
Per benefit check
R1.90 Find out what a patient's covered for before they come in.
Storage past 10 GB
R9 a GB Your first 10 GB of documents is free.

Check a medical insurer

Practor submits claims to 154 of them. Look up the ones your patients are on to see whether you can check their benefits before they come in, whether claims get sent straight to the insurer, and whether you need an authorisation first.

Plans and rules change, so run a benefit check for each patient before you treat them.

If one you bill isn't here, tell us which one and we'll look into adding them.

From the booking to the paid claim

Ava books callers into your diary and writes up the consultation while you talk. You invoice and claim from that note without typing anything again.

What Practor does

Ava answers the phone and writes your notes

Ava answers the phone and writes your notes

Ava answers your practice phone and books callers in. She writes up your consultation while you talk, and she can call a new patient before their first visit to take their history. Between patients, you can ask her to look someone up or book an appointment.

How Ava works
Patients book online and get reminders

Patients book online and get reminders

Patients book online into the times you've opened, for any practitioner in the practice. When someone cancels, Practor offers the time to your waitlist. Practor sends the reminders by WhatsApp or SMS.

How scheduling works
Invoice and claim from your notes

Invoice and claim from your notes

Each patient's history, results, documents and encounters are in one record. When you sign off an encounter, Practor builds an invoice from the procedures and diagnoses you captured and prices each line for you. Sending the invoice and submitting the claim take a click each.

How claims work
Share records directly with patients

Share records directly with patients

Patients can see their appointments, invoices and visit notes, and message you securely. They open their portal from the link you send them, so fewer questions come to your front desk.

Recent access to your record Every time your information is opened, by you or by a practice, we write it down here. We keep the last 50.

  • Patient data doesn't train models

What Ava hears is only used to write up the consultation.

  • You decide which of Ava's entries stay

You accept or decline each entry she writes, and you can always see what she wrote.

  • Practor logs every time a record is opened

The log shows who opened the record, when, and on what legal basis.

  • Calls are kept as written transcripts

Ava keeps a transcript of each call on the practice line and stores no audio.

  • POPIA, and the 2026 health rules

Every use of patient data has a named lawful ground behind it.

  • You can take the records and leave

Download them any time, in a format other systems can import.

  • Staff see what their role allows

The front desk can book an appointment without reading the notes.

  • Closing the account keeps the records

We keep them for as long as your regulator requires, then delete them securely.

What does Practor cost?

Running a practice on Practor is free for everyone on the team. You only pay for what you use: R4.50 for each approved claim, R1.90 for a benefit check, R0.50 for each WhatsApp or SMS you send a patient, and Ava by the consultation. The first 10 GB of document storage is included. See every rate

Does Practor send claims to medical insurance?

Yes. You submit a claim from a finalised invoice, and Practor checks each claim before the claim gets sent through the claims network. Each practitioner enrols once, before their first claim. A rejected claim costs you nothing, and neither does correcting and resending one. How claims work

Which specialties is Practor for?

Every specialty. You pick yours when you set up the practice, and that choice decides which procedure and diagnosis codes load. If your professional body's tariff isn't there, you can import your own codes from a CSV file, with a price on each one. How your codes are chosen

How do I move my practice across?

Export your patient list from your current software as a CSV file and import the file into Practor. Each patient needs a first name, last name, date of birth and email address, and Practor skips anyone already on your list. We set up the practice with you, and there's no setup fee. How the import works

Where is patient data kept?

Patient records are kept in a database in Ireland, on our cloud provider's servers, encrypted in transit and at rest. Some of our service providers, including the one that stores attached documents, process data in other countries such as the United States. Moving personal information out of South Africa is regulated, and the privacy policy sets out the safeguards. Read the privacy policy
