Choose Physiotherapy as your specialty and Practor loads the SASP codes. Practor then builds each invoice from your session notes with the coding rules already applied, and checks every claim before you submit it. Running the practice is free for everyone on the team, and you pay R4.50 for each approved claim.

Invoicing from your session notes

Add the procedures and the diagnosis to the encounter while you treat. When you create the invoice, Practor turns each procedure into a priced line and applies the SASP billing rules. You check the invoice and send it.

The SASP codes
The SASP codes and their billing rules are loaded, with ICD-10 for diagnoses.
Prices
Each line is priced from the patient's plan, their medical insurer or the SASP rate.
Billing rules
Practor applies the SASP rules as it builds the invoice, and tells you when two codes clash.
Changing a line
You can open any line and change its rate, its price or its modifiers.

Once you've signed up and chosen Physiotherapy in your profile, your invoices use the SASP codes.

Repeat bookings and home visits

Book a course of treatment in one go, and record where you saw the patient when you claim.

Book six sessions at once

Set the appointment to repeat weekly and end after six sessions. Practor checks each session against your diary and shows any clash before you save. Patients who've agreed to reminders get an SMS before each session.

How repeat appointments work

Claim for a home visit

When you submit the claim, choose where the session happened: your rooms, the patient's home, or a hospital. The SASP codes for treatment at home, in hospital and for travel are loaded with the rest.

Submitting a claim

Each encounter records when the session started and ended

The encounter shows the date, the start and end times and how long the session took. You can change the notes during the encounter's review period. Then Practor locks it and records who finalised it. Ava, Practor's AI scribe, can write up the session while you treat, and each entry she adds is marked as hers.

How encounters are locked

Claims checked before you submit

Practor runs the same checks on every claim and lists anything that would get it rejected. You can submit once everything passes.

This claim can't be submitted until the patient's eligibility is verified.
Codes and diagnoses
Every line needs a procedure code and a primary diagnosis in ICD-10 format, and no two codes on the claim can clash.
The patient's cover
Run a benefit check before the session to see what the patient is covered for. A check costs R1.90, and you're only charged if the patient is covered.
What a claim costs
You pay R4.50 for each approved claim. Rejected claims cost nothing, and neither does resubmitting a corrected one.
Enrolment
Each physiotherapist enrols once, with their HPCSA registration number and the practice's BHF number.

Once you're enrolled, you can claim from any finalised invoice.

Does Practor have the SASP codes?

Does Practor submit physio claims to medical insurers?

Do I need a BHF practice number to claim?

Yes. Each physiotherapist enrols for claims once, with the practice's BHF number and their own HPCSA registration number. Set up a physiotherapy practice

Why would a physiotherapy claim be rejected?

Practor checks for the common causes before you submit, like a line without a primary diagnosis, codes that can't be billed together, or cover that hasn't been verified. If the medical insurer still rejects a line, you see which line and why, and resubmitting it costs nothing.

Can I charge my own rate to cash patients?

Yes. For each line you can use the patient's plan rate, their medical insurer's rate or the SASP rate, or type in your own price. Set what you charge

Can patients book online?

Yes. Make a schedule bookable and share its link. You decide whether bookings wait for your approval or are confirmed straight away. Turn on online booking

Can an AI scribe write my physio notes?

Yes. Press Start Ava during a session and Ava, Practor's AI scribe, writes up the encounter when the session ends. You accept or decline each entry she adds. Let Ava write up a consultation

Can I share an exercise programme with a patient?

Yes. The practice owner uploads it to the patient's documents and shares it, and the patient opens it in their patient portal. Share a document

How does Practor handle patient data under POPIA?

Every use of patient data has a lawful basis, Practor logs each time a record is opened, and staff only see what their role allows. Records are stored in a database in Ireland, and our privacy policy explains how data sent out of South Africa is protected. Read the privacy policy

How do I bring my patients across?

Import them from a spreadsheet. You match your columns to Practor's fields and fix any rows that don't import. Import patients
