Cookie policy
Every cookie we set, and what each one is for.
1. What this covers
This page lists every cookie practor.app sets and everything else it keeps in your browser. It also covers developers.practor.app and dashboard.practor.app, because the three share cookies. What we do with your information more broadly is in the privacy policy.
2. Cookies the site needs
These are set only when you use the thing they belong to, and that thing can't work without them. We don't ask before setting them.
| Name | Set by | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
practor_consent | Practor | Remembers whether you allowed analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | 12 months if you allowed them, 6 months if you didn't |
_auth | Practor | Keeps you signed in to Practor. | 7 days |
_auth_pending | Practor | Holds your sign-in between entering your password and entering your second factor. | 10 minutes |
_mfa_trust | Practor | Remembers a device you told us to trust, so you aren't asked for a code on it every time. | 30 days |
_auth_ask_ava | Practor | Keeps an Ask Ava conversation together and counts your free questions. | 30 days |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Tells people apart from bots on the contact forms and Ask Ava. | 30 minutes |
3. Analytics cookies
We use PostHog to count visits, see which pages people read, and see where on a page people click and how far down they scroll. It doesn't load until you choose Allow. If you choose Don't allow, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, it doesn't load at all and nothing is counted.
| Name | Set by | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_<project key>_posthog | PostHog |
A random ID for your browser, so several visits from it count as one person. A copy is kept in your
browser's local storage under keys starting ph_.
| 12 months |
We don't record your screen. Where you click or rest the pointer, PostHog keeps the position on the page, not what was under it or anything you typed. Before a page address is sent to PostHog, we remove anything you typed into a search and any location. PostHog keeps the data in the United States.
The same choice applies on dashboard.practor.app. If you haven't allowed analytics cookies, the dashboard still counts which of its screens get used, but it keeps nothing in your browser to do it.
4. Other things kept in your browser
These aren't cookies. They stay in your browser, they're never sent to us, and they're only there because you did the thing they remember.
| Name | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
practor-currency | The currency you picked on the pricing page. | Until you clear it |
practor-market-currency | The country of the last regional page you opened, so prices show in its currency. | Until you clear it |
practor:help-vote:<article> | Whether you said a help article was useful, so the buttons show your answer. | Until you clear it |
practor:persona-scroll | Your place on a page when you switch between its tabs. Deleted as soon as it's read. | Until you close the tab |
5. Other services your browser contacts
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks you're a person when you send a contact form or start an Ask Ava conversation. Cloudflare collects information about your browser and device to do that, under the Turnstile privacy addendum.
- Google Places suggests addresses when you type into the location box while searching for a practitioner. Your browser contacts Google only after you click into that box.
- Cloudinary serves practitioner photos and some of the images on this site.
6. Changing your choice
You can change your answer whenever you like.
Choosing Don't allow after you've allowed them deletes the analytics cookie and the ID stored with it. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the ones the site needs, you won't be able to sign in.
7. Changes to this policy
If we start using a cookie that needs your permission and isn't listed here, we'll update this page and ask you again. Questions go to [email protected].
