Set your availability
A schedule holds the days and hours you see patients and how long a visit runs. Build one, then block out the time you're away.
A schedule holds the days you work, the hours inside them, how long one visit runs, and the dates the whole thing applies between. Practor cuts that into slots, and those slots are what a patient books from. Each schedule has its own hours.
Build a schedule
Open Calendar, switch the toolbar from Events to Schedules, and press the + in the header of the Schedules menu.
Create Schedule wants a title and an appointment duration, which is the length of one slot: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1.5 hours or 2 hours. It starts at 30.
Under those, a badge per day sets which days it runs and two times set the hours it runs on them. A new schedule starts on Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. Tap a badge to add a day or drop one.
Schedule duration at the bottom is the window the whole schedule applies between. It starts today and reads Never ends until you turn on Set end date.
Press Create Schedule to save. An admin building one for somebody else gets a Practitioner picker at the top, and the schedule belongs to whoever they name.
Change the hours later
Pick the schedule from the Schedules menu and the grid fills with its hours. Clicking the shaded band opens a card with its days, times, slot length and date window, and the pencil in that card's corner reopens the form as Edit Schedule.
Day and week views draw a schedule. Month view doesn't.
Block out time you're away
With the schedule picked, drag down the grid across the time you want gone. Create unavailability opens with the dates and times from the drag, and you can correct them.
The Description is required, and it's the only label the block carries, so say what the time is for. Repeat handles a break that happens again, offering daily, weekdays and weekly beside Does not repeat.
Save it and the slots underneath the block go.
Change or remove a block
Hovering a block opens a card with its description, its hours, and whether it repeats. Delete time block is at the bottom of that card.
You can drag a block to another time, or pull its top or bottom edge to change how long it runs. Stretching one into a block that's already there is refused rather than merged. Any of that to a repeating block asks first: This block only, or All blocks in series.
How a free slot is worked out
Practor works the slots out each time something asks for them rather than keeping a list. It takes the hours you set for that day, cuts them into slots of your chosen length, and removes:
- Any time block sitting over them.
- Anything booked on any of your calendars.
- Every date outside the schedule's start and end.
So an appointment on your own calendar closes the slot on every schedule you have, even though you never touched a schedule to do it. Hovering a slot names its state: Free, Tentative, Busy or Unavailable.
Where a schedule's settings live
Calendar → Availability opens the settings for the first schedule you own, with three sections down the left:
- General holds the name, the description and Delete schedule.
- Sharing & permissions is where a schedule is made bookable online, and where a colleague is given access. Turn on online booking has the first.
- Waitlist turns the queue on for this schedule. Fill cancellations with a waitlist has it.
The gear beside a schedule's name in the Schedules menu opens that schedule instead, on Sharing & permissions.
Note
Availability sits under Calendar for a practitioner profile only. A practice support profile reaches the same settings a different way: the + and the gear are both in the Schedules menu on the calendar, and the menu groups the schedules by the practitioner they belong to.
Deleting a schedule switches it off and ends everyone's access to it. There's no undo.
