What GoodX does well

GoodX has made practice software since 1985, when Dr Dirkie Wolvaardt founded the company, and GoodX now employs more than 195 people.

GoodX sends claims to medical insurers in real time and reconciles the remittance advices for you. There's a debtor management system, pathology you order and receive electronically, and a patient portal, MyGrandCentral, where patients book on the web or in an app. GoodXpert, the GoodX AI tool, drafts a clinical note from a short prompt and the patient's details.

The web app runs with your database on the GoodX cloud, and the desktop app can run from a server in your own rooms. Some practices use both: reception in the browser, the bookkeeper on the desktop.

GoodX sells editions for GPs, specialists, dentists, allied health, hospitals, labs, radiology, ophthalmology and billing bureaus. The GoodX learning centre has free courses, manuals and click-through simulations, so your staff can learn the software at their own pace.

Who should choose GoodX

  • You run a hospital, a lab, a radiology practice or a billing bureau. GoodX sells an edition for each, and the bureau edition runs any number of practices on one server.
  • You want your database on a server in your own building. GoodX has a desktop app that works that way, and Practor runs only in the cloud.
  • You want remittance advices reconciled for you, and a debtor management system. GoodX documents both.
  • A long track record matters to you. GoodX has been doing this since 1985, and Practor is new.

Where Practor differs

  • You'd like to know the price before you talk to anyone. Every Practor rate is on our pricing page, and GoodX doesn't publish prices.
  • You don't want a monthly fee or a charge per seat. Running your practice on Practor is free for everyone on the team, and you only pay for claims, benefit checks, patient messages and Ava when you use them.
  • You don't want to pay for a rejected claim. You only pay Practor for a claim the patient's medical insurance approves, and fixing a rejected claim and sending the claim again costs nothing.
  • You want to know the most a month can cost. Set a monthly limit on Practor's billing page, and paid features stop when you reach the limit.

You can set a monthly limit on what you spend, so you always know the most a month can cost. Practor has no monthly fee and no contract, and every rate is on the pricing page.

How switching works

Practor doesn't import straight from GoodX or from any other system. Moving takes three steps, and our team does the second one with you.

  1. 1Export your patient list from GoodX as a CSV file. If you're not sure how, ask GoodX.
  2. 2Our team sets up your practice with you and imports the file. You match the file's columns to Practor's fields and check each one before anything is saved.
  3. 3Appointments, notes and invoices don't come across. Keep your GoodX account, or a full export from GoodX, so you can still look up a patient's history.
